Lingfield Equine Distance Learning
Campuses: Online
Lingfield Equine Distance Learning is one of the UK’s most respected and long-standing providers of online equine education, offering flexible, professional courses for horse owners, riders, grooms, and yard managers. Founded in the 1990s by experienced coach and educator Paula Clements, Lingfield became a pioneering force in equestrian distance learning, combining BHS and ABRS-aligned content with real-world practicality, industry expertise, and a compassionate understanding of the challenges adult learners face.
The courses range from foundational equine care and management to specialised programmes for livery yard owners, grooms, and riding school staff, including several industry-accredited options with UK Rural Skills. Lingfield courses are designed to fit around real lives – supporting thousands of students balancing work, families, horses, and study.
Following Paula’s passing, Lingfield’s course materials and ethos were entrusted to EQUK (Equestrian Qualifications UK CIC) as part of her legacy. EQUK now stewards Lingfield’s unique curriculum with the same integrity and commitment to improving horse welfare through education. Going forward, Lingfield courses continue to empower learners while supporting EQUK’s broader mission: to make equine education more accessible and meaningful, especially for grassroots equestrians and professionals working directly with horses.
Rooted in experience, shaped by compassion, and focused on the future of welfare-focused horsemanship, Lingfield remains a beacon for anyone looking to build their knowledge and confidence in the care, management, and ethical stewardship of horses.
Lingfield Equine Distance Learning is supported by a small, dedicated team of experienced equestrian professionals, each with decades of industry and educational experience. The tutors are not only highly qualified but also deeply familiar with the real-life demands of working with horses and supporting adult learners.
